Description

The aim of the Agropastoral and Fisheries Offensive is to produce 100,000 tonnes of fish by 2025. Since 2023, floating cages have been installed on five dams to achieve this objective and meet fish consumption needs.

This initiative is benefits several sections of Burkina Faso society, such as Jacob NAGOUANDE, an internally displaced person who manages to provide for his family.

For the moment, the price of local fish is equivalent to that of imported fish. However, Juliette KÉRÉ/KOURAOGO, Director of Fisheries Product Development, hopes that with government support, prices will eventually come down.
