The Koubri District Police, with the support of the Koglweogo community self-defence groups, intercepted three vehicles on 27 May 2026 that were illegally transporting poultry products from a neighbouring country.

The seizure included more than 2,400 chickens, as well as 120 boxes of chicken gizzards and livers, with an estimated value of over 13 million CFA francs. The operation took place in the village of Nabazaana.

According to the security services, these goods were intended to supply illegal sales networks in the city of Ouagadougou and its surroundings during the Tabaski celebrations. The authorities emphasise that this operation aims to safeguard public health and combat illegal trading networks.

The police took this opportunity to urge citizens to cooperate more closely by reporting any suspicious activity, in order to help safeguard the economic and public health security of communities. They also call on the public to remain vigilant regarding food products of dubious origin.
