The Minister for Humanitarian Action and National Solidarity, Lieutenant-Colonel Pélagie KABORÉ, visited the regions of Goulmou, Tapoa and Sirba from 21 to 23 May 2026 to assess the initiatives implemented to assist communities affected by the security crisis. These include agricultural plots that help to strengthen the beneficiaries’ self-reliance and support their sustainable recovery.

In Fada N’Gourma, the Minister visited two agricultural schemes designed to support the production activities of internally displaced persons and host communities. The first, located in Sector 1, is run by the simplified cooperative ‘Boama’, whilst the second, in Sector 6, comprises 167 farmers, including 87 internally displaced persons.

These schemes enable beneficiaries to develop vegetable producing activities, generate income and improve their food security. They also promote social cohesion through collective work between displaced populations and host communities.

Through these initiatives, the authorities aim to offer those forced to leave their homes prospects for sustainable recovery and encourage them to gradually rebuild their livelihoods in a more stable and secure environment.
