Gardens of survival

After an injury, Mamouna Ouedraogo had to have her left foot amputated. Her husband abandoned her and her three children, and she found herself completely dependent on her parents. Due to inactivity, she was having bad thoughts all day long, and life was not easy.

One day, she got in touch with CBM agents and she was supported with gardening equipment, seeds and goat.  This is how she started off-season cultivation. Now, through this activity, she is able to earn an income, feed her family, afford healthcare and par for schooling.

Like Mamouna, there are other disabled people who have been supported by CBM and are engaged in crop production, an activity that has improved their lives.
