SAHEL: Digitalisation for an agriculture which is climate-smart and more attractive to youth

On 17 and 18 April 2019, the regional Conference on Geodata for Water and Agriculture was held in Ouagadougou, on the theme: “IT services and geo-spatial data in the field of climate-smart agriculture: digitalisation to increase business opportunities and entrepreneurship of youth and women”.

Organised by the Permanent Interstate Committee for Drought Control in the Sahel (CILSS), the Netherlands Space Office and the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs, under the aegis of ECOWAS and UEMOA, this regional conference brought together a hundred experts from public and private institutions involved in the ICT, water, food security, climate change and geospatial sectors from West Africa and Europe.
