Description

Natalie KPANTE is a graduate in sociology. In 2013, she created with five other young people, CHOCO TOGO, a cooperative that produces and markets organic chocolate.

The story started when Natalie and her colleagues attended a training on agricultural entrepreneurship in the framework of a project called “Fair Young Sociable Inclusive Cooperative”, financed by the European Union.

After the training, they did some research and found out that cocoa farmers did not know what chocolate is. From this observation, they came up with the idea to create CHOCO TOGO, with the objective to produce and market chocolate for the local market.

Today, CHOCO TOGO employs over 60 women and young girls who work at their production units in Kpalimé and Lomé.
