Souleymane AGNE is a Horticultural Technician. In 2016, he ventured into the production of organic strawberries through his enterprise, BIO-AGRIPÔLES.
Strawberry production is not common in Senegal. And after doing a trial, Souleymane saw that it was possible to grow this fruit in the country. In 2016, he decided to venture into strawberry production and his innovation was to have a strawberry that is sweet.
“It was not only to produce strawberry, but also sweet strawberries, which goes beyond production. It was also to show that it is possible to market them here in Senegal, and therefore compete with imported strawberries,” says Souleymane.
